This drama is set about 100 years ago when modernization was blooming in Japan. Meiko grows up spoiled by the delicacies prepared by her parents who run a restaurant. Her love of food is so strong that it amazes Yutaro, a university student boarding in Meiko's parents' home. The two get married, and Meiko’s love of eating turns into a desire to bring joy to people with her cooking. But soon World War II begins and Meiko encounters many difficulties. Even so, her passion for cooking makes the people around her smile and leads to an unexpected turn of events.
