Our heroine Tsuneko is living a happy life in pre-WWII Japan with her loving parents. But her life is turned upside-down with the death of her father. On his deathbed, the father asks Tsuneko, the eldest of his three daughters, to step in as the father figure and protect the family. Tsuneko makes an absurd decision to build her family a house, and to do so joins a publishing company after graduating from a girls' school. Tsuneko's quest eventually leads her to launch Japan's first lifestyle magazine with her family, which becomes a sensation in postwar Japan. This drama offers an exciting and moving story of the great challenges a small family faces, during times when women were given little power in society.
